Why We Collect
We use the information you provide to:
- Respond to your enquiry and provide a firearm valuation or quote.
- Arrange and confirm competency training bookings.
- Assess eligibility where you use the eligibility checker.
- Verify your identity and firearm details as part of SAPS 534 transfer requirements.
- Comply with our obligations under the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000 and other applicable law.
We do not use your information for unrelated marketing without your consent.
How We Store
Information you submit is stored on secure systems with access restricted to authorised
Webuygunz staff who need it to assist you.
Serial numbers you submit are encrypted in transit and at rest, and are
only ever accessible to our licensed dealer for the purpose of verifying and valuing your
firearm. They are never displayed publicly on this Site or shared with marketing partners.
Who We Share With
We may share your information with:
- The South African Police Service (SAPS) and other regulators, where legally required for a firearm licence, transfer, or competency application.
- Trusted service providers who host or process data on our behalf (for example, secure website hosting), under confidentiality obligations.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose it was
collected for, or as required by the Firearms Control Act and other applicable law, after
which it is securely deleted or anonymised.
Your Rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to:

- Request correction of inaccurate or outdated information.
- Request deletion of your information, subject to any legal retention requirements.
- Object to certain processing of your information.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
